ACT I
Narrator: We know that young people have a lot of hormones and feelings that make them attracted to another person. Well this story has something similar but at the same time rebellious. Mary is a young girl from a very distinguished family and very conceited but her sister Amanda is not like that: she advises her younger sister a lot even if she doesn’t want to.
Amanda: Oh, my friend! I don’t know what to do with my sister anymore, she doesn’t pay attention to me or anything like that… she’s very rebellious and spends all her time thinking about boyfriends, but even I wasn’t like that when I was her age.
Jeremiah: Yes, my friend, I know what your sister is like, she’s the opposite of you, she’s rebellious and spends her time thinking about boyfriends and you’re only in class because you haven’t even had a boyfriend… Hey, my friend, what happened with John? There are a lot of rumors going around, you know how the neighbors are.
Amanda: No friend, nothing to do with him (she laughs) we are just friends, imagine me with him, hahaha, look how I laugh.
(And just then John arrives and says)
John: Hi girls, how are you? Amanda, but how pretty you look… you look pretty as always!
Amanda: Oh John, you as always and your nonsense, go study instead.
(They leave the house and at that moment Mary enters and says)
Mary: Get out of my way, I have to get ready, don’t you see Richard is coming and I have to be more beautiful than ever.
John: You pretty? hahahaha
(John and Jeremiah laugh)
Mary: Yes, at least I don’t spend my time with those little books.
Amanda: They are not books, they are called notebooks.
Mary: Well that’s… oh you know what! Bye, I have to get ready.
(Amanda, John and Jeremiah leave the house)
ACT II
Narrator: While the boys leave and Mary becomes more beautiful than ever, the hours go by and it is time for Mary to go see Richard.
(At that moment Omar passes by and says)
Omar: But Mary, how beautiful you are today, you don’t even greet me with your friends. Hey, let’s go out one of these days for ice cream or wherever you want to go.
Mary: Omar, we already talked about how you’re not my type.
Omar: And what are your types? Just like Richard, a bad student. It’s better to be like me, a good boy who is excellent in class and who can give you a good future.
Mary: I know… but the one I like is him, not you and bye bye, I’m late.
Narrator: While Omar leaves disappointed, Mary goes to see Richard, the boy she likes and maybe her next boyfriend.
Richard: Love (and they give each other a hug), you look more beautiful than ever.
Mary: Yes, thank you, I got dressed like this just for you (And they leave holding hands).
ACT III
Narrator: While Mary leaves with her boyfriend Richard, Amanda arrives home tired after a long day at the university.
Amanda: Hi mommy how are you yummmm!! it smells sooooo good what are you making for dinner?
Leslie: Hello kid! for dinner my love i´m cooking what your daddy likes the most: meat tacos!
Amanda: Yummy!
Jason: Hi daughter, how are you? how was college and where is your sister, she was not with you?
Amanda: No dad, she went to see her boyfriend Richard!
Jason: That girl is always thinking about boyfriends… (Looking at Leslie) It had to be your daughter! And with that boy who’s not very nice to talk to, he’s stayed with her 3 times in 2 years! You have really bad taste in men, i prefer Yomar from her.
Amanda: It´s Omar dad.
Jason: Well that Omar seems to be a good boy and from a good family.
Leslie: Yes, he is very much in love with Mary but Mary is just as blind as her father.
Jason: That’s true, that’s why I have you and not the neighbor.
Narrator: While Amanda and her parents eat, bedtime arrives and they go to sleep to go to class early. The day of class arrives and everyone leaves for school.
ACT IV
(They arrive and sit in the chairs)
Roxy: Mary, you were lost yesterday, I went to look for you and you were nowhere to be found.
Mary: I was seeing my boyfriend Richard and it was the best thing.
Roxy: Tell me what you did.
Mary: He asked me for a love test.
Roxy: And you gave it to him or what?
Mary: Of course, my friend, and I did it because I love him.
Roxy: And did you use protection?
Mary: Oh, I took one of my mom’s pills and that was it.
Roxy: But that’s not like that, Mary, that’s with medical supervision. If you don’t get pregnant anyways.
Mary: No, don’t worry, I know how it is, my mom takes them like that and I did the same thing she did.
Narrator: After the class, the young girls go home to rest, the days go by and Mary doesn’t feel very well and calls her friend Roxy to come to her house.
ACT V
Roxy: Hello, Mrs. Leslie, how are you, is Mary here?
Leslie: Yes, come in, she is in her room.
Roxy: Hello friend, i came right away when you called me.. tell me what’s wrong!
Mary: I just haven’t been feeling very well since that day, I think I am pregnant and I have already taken the test.
Roxy: And how did it come out?
Mary: Positive and I don’t know what to do and how I will tell Richard and if he leaves me, oh no I don’t want this anymore.
Roxy: Oh, my friend, what will the neighbors tell us? And does your mother know? have you told her? You know what? Call Richard so you two can meet.
Narrator: While Mary calls Richard, her mother Leslie has heard everything and goes to talk to her neighbor Nicole and tell her everything.
ACT VI
Leslie: Neighbor, how are you? I have to tell you something, but don’t tell anyone.
Nicole: Yes, tell me.
Leslie: My daughter is pregnant and I don’t know how to tell my husband.
Nicole: And which one, Amanda or Mary?
Leslie: Well, Mary, the younger one… Oh, I don’t know what to do!
(And at that moment Mary and Roxy come out)
Leslie: Daughter… Where are you going?
Mary: To see a friend for a homework mom… I’m going now, good bye to you too Nicole greetings to your husband and daughter.
Nicole: Good Bye to you too, I’m leaving now I have the house alone and Jeremiah is coming home from college and I haven’t made dinner.
Leslie: Well good bye thanks for listening to me.
Narrator: While Mary goes out with her friend and Nicole goes home, the guys from the university arrive.
ACT VII
Jeremiah: Hi mom! how are you?
Nicole: Hi kid, sit down, your father and I need to talk to you about something serious.
Ronnie: Yes, we have to talk about something.
Jeremiah: What happened? Tell me.
Ronnie: That you are forbidden to go to Amanda’s house and to get together with her.
Jeremiah: Why dad?? if she is my best friend what did I do wrong??
Ronnie: Because her sister got pregnant and you know how the neighbors talk, what can they say about you too.
Jeremiah: Well dad is okay.
Narrator: While Jeremiah is shocked by what happened, Mary meets with Richard to talk about what happened.
ACT VIII
Mary: She cant begin to talk cause she is crying….
Richard: Hello my love, what happened, tell me what happened please!
Mary: Sit down (Richard sits down)… Look,i have to tell you something….. you know ….you’re going to be a father (Richard looks at her with a surprised face) I’m pregnant….
Richard: It can’t be Mary and why didn’t you take care of it, I’m too young to be a dad and I can’t take care of him. Mary I’m sorry, take care of him by yourself and don’t call me or look for me anymore (Richard stands up and leaves).
Mary: What did I do! I didn’t listen to Omar’s advice, I destroyed my life and my youth for a silly love test, how stupid of me (and Mary is left crying on the floor).
THE END
