Hannah: But I don’t like them, Mom.

Mom: I know it’s hard for you to try new things with different flavors, but they all have the vitamins and nutrients your body needs to grow healthy and strong and for your brain to develop properly. And not only that! It also helps you run faster and be happier.

Hannah: Okay, Mom, I’ll give it a try.

Mom: Hannah, come down, it’s time for breakfast, come eat your oatmeal!

Hannah (in a tired voice): I’ll be right down, Mom!

Hannah arrives at the table, and her mother sits down to eat breakfast with her.

Mom: What’s wrong, Hannah? You look pale.

Hannah: I don’t know, mom, the truth is that I don’t feel like playing, I’d like to spend the whole day lying down.

Mom: Hannah, that tiredness you feel is caused by the lack of nutrients in your body. You must stop refusing all the dishes I give you. From today, you won’t eat any more dessert until you finish all your food!

Hannah: But mom!

Mom: Hannah, you must realize that it’s for your own good. Do you want to always feel tired and never be able to play with the same energy as your friends?

Hannah (with tears in her eyes): You’re right, Mom.

Mom: Starting today, NO MORE DESSERT!

Act III:

Setting:Hannah’s dining room.

Introduction: A week went by and Hannah had a hard time trying new dishes. Broccoli made her vomit a little and strawberry juice felt strange.

With each passing day, and with a new plate of fresh salads and freshly squeezed fruit juices that her mom made for her, she felt different, it no longer felt strange to her palate.

Hannah: Mom, you were definitely right. Since I started eating the vegetables and drinking the natural fruit juices, I have felt more energetic. In fact, my body feels different.

Mom: That different feeling is called wellness. Your body is no longer weak, it is strong.

Hannah (Laughing): I feel like fruits and vegetables are now my favorite food!

Act IV:

Setting: Afternoon, courtyard of the house.

Introduction: Hannah was playing jump rope with her neighbors.

Mom: Hannah, come in, it’s time for your snack!

Hannah: I’m coming, friends, I won’t be long!

Hannah enters the house, washes her hands and goes to the dining room.

Mom: My beautiful daughter! I’ve cooked you a delicious surprise.

Hannah’s mom lifts a lid and unveils a delicious chocolate cake decorated with all her favorite sweets.

Hannah was speechless, she didn’t know what to say.

Hannah: Mom, it really looks delicious, but something strange is happening to me: It doesn’t tease me the same way it used to!

Mom: Daughter, that’s because your body got used to eating healthy, and no longer feels the need to consume sugars in excess that damage your organism.

Hannah: Mom, is that bad?

Mom (laughing kindly): No daughter, not at all! It means that we can enjoy sweets as long as they are in moderate amounts.

Hannah: Mom, what do you think if instead of the candy, we chop up some strawberries and bananas and decorate the cake with them?

Mom: That’s a great idea, Hannah!

Hannah and her mom went to the kitchen, while Hannah removed the excess candy and sweets from the cake, her mom chopped the strawberries and bananas.

Mom: Ready, Hannah! I’ve already chopped the fruits, do you want to be the one to decorate the cake?

Hannah: Yes, Mom!

Mom: Hannah, I’m so proud of you.

Hannah: Thanks, Mom! You know what? I’ve come up with an excellent idea, how about you and I start baking desserts with moderate sugars, decorate them with fruits and hand them out at my school? It would be an incredible way to promote healthy eating among all my friends.

Mom: That sounds like a great idea, Hannah!

Hannah: Getting sick the way I did from not eating properly made me feel doubly bad: physically because I didn’t have the energy to play and mentally when I remembered all the children in the world who can’t enjoy all the foods and I was privileged and refused them.

Mom (while chopping several pieces of cake with fruits and putting them on several plates) : Don’t think about it anymore, my dear Hannah. You are a healthy and strong girl, and thanks to the lesson you have learned, you will help your friends and other children in your school to eat better. Take these plates with cake and take them to your neighbors.

Hannah: Yes, Mom!

Hannah goes out into the yard, and hands out the pie to her neighbors.

Carla: Oh wow, Hannah, it’s a chocolate cake! It’s really delicious.

Helena: Yes, it’s delicious, but what’s this red stuff on the cake? I haven’t tasted it before, it has quite a peculiar flavor.

Hannah: It’s strawberries and their red color stimulates heart health!

Helena: Wow, Hannah, you really know! I always see my mom eating them and she tells me I should do the same, I never listened to her, but I had no idea they tasted so good!

All the girls laugh.

Carla: Well, it’s time to eat more strawberries so that our hearts will grow and we can fit more love in them!

Helena: I have a great idea, I think we should call this cake Hannah´s strawberry cake!

The girls were laughing again and making more jokes as they enjoyed the delicious cake. Hannah’s mom looked out the window and was proud that Hannah was sharing her knowledge and promoting healthy habits with her friends.

THE END.
